(Pfingst) Animal Acres

Grass, trees, McAleer Creek, and a Master Gardener Demonstration Garden provide a diversity of habitats for suburban birds in (Pfingst) Animal Acres Park.

What Do I Need to Know Before Visiting?

There's ample parking along Brookside Blvd NE. Be cautious driving during school hours, as the speed limits drop to 20 mph on nearby roads and there are many children and parents walking in the area.

What Will I see Here?

Look for Dark-eyed Juncos in the grassy areas and Black-capped and Chestnut-backed Chickadees in the trees. Listen for Pacific Slope Flycatchers in the summer. The park has a few interesting statues, including one of Miguel Grau Seminario, a gift from the people of Peru in 2011. Enjoy the otter statue as well.
